My writing career inspiration occured when my 5 year old daughter's pet rabbit died suddenly. I could not find the right books to process this first time grief with her, hence "The Day Skipper went to Heaven" was written.  Since that day, I have drafted ten additional books and I am currently working with Mascot Books to publish them.  I am passionate about children's books pertaining to social/emotional topics because I use them frequently in my work with students as an elementary school social worker.

I graduated with a B.S. from the University of Rhode Island and an M.S.W. from Simmons College in Boston, MA. I currently live in Northern Rhode Island with my husband and two daughters.
